Safety & Reporting

Vairi is anonymous-first: there is no public profile grid to browse, and you are only introduced to one person at a time rather than exposed to anyone searching the platform.

In a conversation

You can end any chat instantly, report behaviour, and block someone in two taps, without navigating a menu.

Moderation: automated first, human on report

Every message is screened before it sends: a keyword filter catches known-bad phrases, and an AI moderation check flags harassment, sexual content, threats, and self-harm language. A blocked message never reaches the other person. This screening is automatic and immediate, with no human in the loop before a message is blocked.

A blocked message counts as one strike. Three strikes auto-suspends the account; no human approval is required for that step either.

Reporting a user is different: it goes to the Vairi team for manual review, not the automated filter. A person reads every report, and action can range from a warning to an immediate permanent ban depending on what happened.

Age

Vairi is for adults 18 and over. Age is self-declared at sign-up; Vairi does not currently run document-based age verification. Report any account you believe belongs to a minor.

Appeals

Think a suspension or block was wrong? Email safety@vairi.app with your account email and what happened. There is no automated appeal flow; a person on the team reviews it.

What Vairi cannot guarantee

Automated filters miss things, and people can lie about who they are. Vairi reduces risk: it cannot verify anyone's identity beyond their email, and it cannot supervise what happens outside the app. Use the same judgment here you would with any stranger.

Your data

Vairi does not sell member data. Conversation data is retained for a limited period after a match closes; see the Privacy Policy for the current retention window and full detail.

Meeting in person

No app-side feature replaces ordinary in-person precautions. If a match leads to meeting up, meet in a public place first and tell someone where you are going.
